Elevation was founded on a simple belief: every child deserves an education where they are known, challenged, and inspired to become the best version of themselves.
Too often, education asks children to fit into a system instead of creating learning experiences that recognize their unique strengths, interests, and potential. We believe there is a better way.
At Elevation, learning is built on relationships, curiosity, and meaningful experiences. We believe students thrive when they are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, take ownership of their learning, and grow at a pace that builds lasting confidence.
Our goal is not simply to prepare children for the next grade or the next test. We strive to develop capable, compassionate, and confident young people who are equipped to make a positive impact on the world around them.
Every decision we make, from the way we design our learning environment to the way we support students and families, is guided by one purpose: to elevate the way children learn.
Education is one of the greatest investments we make in our children. We believe families deserve meaningful choices, students deserve to be known, and learning should inspire curiosity rather than extinguish it. Our hope is that every child who walks through our doors leaves with the confidence to continue learning, the courage to ask questions, and the character to make a positive impact on the world.

Morning: Core Quests
Students immerse themselves in science and history themes while strengthening literacy through authentic reading, writing, discussion, research, and projects.
Afternoon: Studios
Students discover passions through hands-on Studios where they build, create, design, invent, perform, cook, engineer, and collaborate.

Megan E. Gerhardt
Hi, I'm Meg!
I'm the founder of Elevation Education and a Colorado-licensed educator with nearly 20 years of experience teaching in Utah and Colorado public schools, primarily in Title I communities. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles, including struggling readers, bilingual learners, neurodivergent students, and children who simply needed a different approach to learning.
Those experiences taught me that no two children learn exactly alike, and that one educational model cannot meet the needs of every learner. That belief inspired me to create Elevation Education: a homeschool away from home where students are known, challenged, and encouraged to grow with confidence, curiosity, and purpose.
One of the greatest joys of teaching has always been the relationships. I have loved every student I've ever taught, and each spring was bittersweet as I watched them move on to someone new. I often found myself wondering what would happen if great teachers had the opportunity to grow alongside the same students year after year; truly knowing them, celebrating their strengths, supporting them through challenges, and partnering with families over time. Elevation was built around that vision.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Utah State University and have served as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, tutor, team leader, and educational mentor. My passion is helping students discover their strengths, develop a love of learning, and take ownership of their education.
When I'm not at school, you'll find me reading, writing, gardening, walking, or spending time outdoors with my husband, Zack, and our three boys.

Alex Deniston
Meet Ms. Alex
Alex is a Colorado-licensed educator with experience working with children from infancy through middle school. She is passionate about creating a learning environment that is nurturing, engaging, and centered around kindness, hard work, and a growth mindset. She loves helping students build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Outside of school, Alex is the proud mom of two sweet kids, Harley and Navy, who keep her and her husband smiling, busy, and inspired every day. When she's not chasing little ones, you'll likely find her reading a good book, tending her garden, caring for her chickens, or learning more about homesteading and sustainable living.
We are so grateful to have Ms. Alex as part of the Elevation family, and our students are too!
Cassie Urtel
Meet Miss Cassie
Miss Cassie is a Colorado native who holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Science and is currently pursuing her Colorado teaching license.
She has several years of experience working with children and is trained in dyslexia intervention, SAT preparation, and tutoring students of all ages across a variety of subjects. Simply put, she's happiest when she's working with kids! Even on weekends, you'll find her leading our community's Kids' Night Out program, creating fun and engaging experiences for local families.
When she's not teaching, Miss Cassie enjoys reading, caring for her ever-growing collection of houseplants, and spending time with her cat and energetic puppy.
