Learning With Purpose

At Elevation Education, we believe learning should be personalized, engaging, and meaningful. Rather than expecting every student to move through the same curriculum at the same pace, we meet students where they are and help them progress through mastery, confidence, and curiosity.

Our mornings are dedicated to building strong academic foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. Afternoons provide opportunities for students to apply their learning through hands-on projects, enrichment, and real-world experiences.

Morning Meeting & World Watch

Every day begins together as a community. Morning Meeting is a time to build relationships, set goals, celebrate successes, and prepare for the day ahead. Through our World Watch discussions, students explore current events, geography, and global issues while developing communication, critical thinking, and respectful discussion skills.

Students develop:

CORE Skills Block

The morning CORE Skills Block is dedicated to personalized instruction in literacy and mathematics. Students work at their individual instructional levels while receiving small-group instruction, one-on-one support, and opportunities to collaborate with peers.

Because we use a mastery-based approach, students move forward when they demonstrate understanding--not simply because it's time to move to the next lesson.

Literacy

Strong readers become strong learners.

​

Our literacy block combines independent reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and teacher-led instruction with science and social studies content. Students build foundational reading skills while learning to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

​

At Elevation, we believe every student deserves reading instruction that meets them where they are. All of our instructional guides are trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a structured, multisensory method recognized as the gold standard for teaching reading, spelling, and writing. Students who need additional support receive individualized Orton-Gillingham instruction regardless of their age or grade level, ensuring they develop the foundational skills needed to become confident, capable readers.

Whether a student is learning foundational phonics, strengthening comprehension, or analyzing complex texts, our goal is to help every learner grow with confidence and experience the joy of reading.

 

Mathematics

Students receive individualized math instruction using a mastery-based approach. Each learner works at the level that best meets their needs, allowing them to build confidence while developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.

Teachers conference with students regularly, provide targeted instruction, and celebrate growth every step of the way.

Science

Science at Elevation is built around curiosity and discovery. Students investigate questions, conduct experiments, complete engineering challenges, and learn through observation, discussion, research, and hands-on exploration.

Science instruction is integrated into our literacy block, helping students strengthen both scientific thinking and reading comprehension.

History & Social Studies

History is more than memorizing dates—it's understanding people, cultures, and the choices that shape our world.

​

Students explore geography, civics, economics, Colorado history, and world history through historical fiction, primary sources, research, discussion, writing, and presentations.

​

We want students to become thoughtful citizens who understand both the past and their role in shaping the future.

Assessment & Mastery

At Elevation, assessment is about growth, not comparison.

​

Students regularly reflect on their progress, set goals, and demonstrate mastery before moving to new concepts. We use observations, student conferences, projects, presentations, portfolios, and standardized assessments to monitor growth and celebrate success.

​

During our first year as a full-time microschool, our students demonstrated over 100% growth in both reading and mathematics on the i-Ready diagnostic assessments.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Learning doesn't stop at a desk.

​

Throughout the year, students participate in field experiences, STEM challenges, entrepreneurship projects, science fairs, geography fairs, community partnerships, and service opportunities that connect classroom learning to the real world.

Our goal is to help students become confident learners who know how to think, solve problems, communicate, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
